EvE dashboard

EVE Online is an online game whose economy works like a real market: production, trade, logistics. I applied corporate reporting logic to it to track revenue, balance and assets.

The approach

  1. Collection

    Transactions, the account journal and assets come in automatically through an API, with no manual entry.

  2. Consolidation

    A consolidation sheet groups the flows by category using pivot tables.

  3. Reporting

    The dashboard shows revenue by category, balance over time, asset allocation and volumes mined.

Takeaways

In a company, it is the same chain: automate collection, make consolidation reliable, deliver a dashboard that reads at a glance.

The same API was also used in the final of an Excel tournament. Next step: new indicators and better inventory valuation.
